I was born in Chicago in1942. I grew up on the north side, attending Casmir Pulaski Grade School, Tuley and Maine West High Schools, and DePaul and Iona Universities. As I was growing up, I fell in love with the game of baseball while practicing pitching skills against the Pulaski School wall with a pink rubber Spaldine. Although majoring in business, I won the DePaul University art contest two years in a row and was encouraged by an art judge to attend the Art Institute of Chicago - not bad for an accounting student! As the years passed, I became a CPA and practiced accounting there came a time when my love for creating art translated into a full time commitment. I studied sculpture at the Silvermine School of Art in Connecticut and started a second career. After successful years of welding iron abstract and representational pieces, I was asked to make a baseball collage for a friend. Well, that first piece created requests for more baseball collages and word spread about their beauty. Now, ten years later, my assistants and I dedicate ourselves to create Star Boxes for a growing demand - a most pleasant surprise, I may add. I now live in Norwalk, Connecticut with my wife Elizabeth and three of our five children.
